Script Format


A working script should look like this when using word processing software and saving in document format:
(but when you save in text only format, the spacing is lost)



Play Title

Act I:
Scene 1: Location At Rise:
Gentlewoman is on stage.
The count is on stage.
The cat (lying down) appears on stage.
The scene begins with the lights at full intensity.
The Narrow spotlight (right) gobo is used.

The Scene Begins:

Gentlewoman: (enters , looking around) Here kitty, kitty, kitty. (The lights go off and she screams.)
The Count: (strikes a match) I've been expecting you, my dear.

(Blue lights come up. Gentlewoman backs toward door and steps on kitty. Kitty meows, distracting the count. Gentlewoman runs out.)

The Count: : You can run but you can't hide.

(The Burglar sneaks on stage)...


NOTE: When all of the groups in a circle are using Microsoft Word, the above format can be used. However, because most groups will be using different computer systems and software, you will save your scripts in text only format.

Text scripts should look like this:
